In surprising news Tim Mathys the owner of Standing Construct Yamaha Yamalube has told MXlarge that the relationship with his team and Valentin Guillod has ended. Together they reached great success in 2015 with GP wins and a chance to be crowned 2015 MX2 world champion. Guillod will move to the MXGP class in 2016 and at the moment a likely move to a team like KTM or Suzuki would seem the most likely avenue, but there are also rumors he will move to America to race.

Guillod has been doing a lot of training on Supercross circuits in preperation for the Genoa, Lille and Geneva Supercross races, but has little time on the deep sand circuits in Lommel, which the team felt would be needed to improve his sand skills (which were not great in 2015) for 2016. He has been training on a Yamaha for these events, but with the new situation you have to wonder what bike he will ride in Genoa this coming weekend.

Below are the comments from Mathys.

“Standing Construct Yamaha Yamalube and Valentin Guillod have decided on Thursday 29th October to end their cooperation. The reason for this decision is due to a difference of opinion in how and where to prepare in winter and which training schedules to apply in order to perform at a high level during the course of a complete season in MXGP in all different circumstances. Standing Construct Yamaha Yamalube wants to thank Valentin Guillod and his entourage for the successful cooperation the past years and the results that have been achieved together.”
